Lodging requests are billed in accordance with the current Administrative Policies and Procedures (AP&P’s). Members can request an exemption from the union room sharing policies. These exemptions are approved by the SEIU 503 Treasurer, or their designee. Sub-locals can choose to provide single rooms for their members for one time or short-term situations; more information on these types of exemptions are below.
Types of Requests and Examples of Qualifying Criteria:
- Individual Room Share Exemption: Please use this form for applying for an Individual Room Share Exemption
- Sub-Local Room Share Exemption (One-time or Short-term)
All room share exemption requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We recommend you plan your attendance for the event in accordance with the rules around room sharing (Administrative Policies and Procedures, Article VI).
Sub-locals can approve an individual member or group of members for a one-time or short-term exemption. (Ex. Approving single rooms for their members attending General Council or approving single rooms for members attending bargaining sessions) These charges will be billed to the sub-local for payment. If a sub-local chooses to cover charges they must complete and submit this form, so staff are able to correctly bill charges. They must also send in a copy of the Executive Committee/Member Meeting Minutes where this was voted on and approved. This form is only good for the term of the current officers and will expire on April 30 of even numbered years when new officers are elected and installed. This approval can be updated or cancelled at any time with a new completed form or in writing (printed or email) from at least two (2) officers.
